Teaching infants and children survival swimming skills on Long Island.
Instructor Information
I first found ISR when my first baby was a year old, and I wanted him to be able to be safe around the water. I came across a video on social media of an infant floating during their ISR lesson and I wanted THAT for my son. I found the only ISR instructor on Long Island at the time, and signed him up immediately. I was working full time as an occupational therapist, his lessons were 45 minutes away from home, and I somehow made it work. It was worth every single moment, because at the end his session, he was completely independent in the water. I knew then and there that I was going to become certified to teach these skills to children. I was trained 6 months later in 2016 and now work hard to reach as many children in my community as possible to continue the mission of "Not one more child drowns."
I am also an occupational therapist, with over 10 years of experience working in a variety of fields, with infants, school aged children, and the geriatric population.
I am outnumbered at home, with my husband and 2 little boys.
I teach ISR lessons in Hauppauge & Commack.
